This is my simple tribute to one of rally's great drivers, Attilio Bettega (1953-1985)
This Lancia 037 Rally di Monza with Maurizio Perissinot drove a nice overall race with 49 points standing 5th in the drivers final classification. Sadly, in a race in Corsica at the 4th stage, Attilio lost control of his Lancia and hit a tree, killing him instantly. His co driver survived uninjured.
This is the 1:18 scale Kyosho Lancia 037 Rally di Monza version.

Bettega was one of my favourite rally pilots at the time, I'll always remember hearing the news of its death. By the way a little correction Mike: it's "Attilio".
No need I think to mention that both model and pictures are superb, that's always the case with you. I like the velvety effect of your background, I don't recall you tried something like that before.

Absolutely fantastic model Mike. Those rally times was the most spectacular, but not always lucky for drivers. Crazy era. Great pics, as always.

These cars were very dangerous. Too many pilots died in 80´s.
