Christmas Firetruck

This was our Christmas gift to my son Kenshin. Its like a Lego type assembly firetruck! When we bought this in the store, I said to myself, this would take around 3 hours tops, but I was wrong!! Good thing I was on vacation, and its one of those father-son bonding activity.

but when he saw this...

he only took the wheels and played with them hehehe!

It took me 8 hours of tinkering, finding, and locking all of 150pcs of this firetruck! From time to time, Ken would check my progress hoping it would be built soon. My fingertip are all sore from the locking and pulling and pushing from the small parts.

And finally, a very satisfied customer hehe! Still playing with it throughout the day!

Automobili Lamborghini Garage

I was amazed on how detailed this 1:18 Lamborghini garage made by one of our member, Angelo(Nicadrus) that he posted on our forum. I wanted to post it as soon as I saw it. Simply a marvelous job! He started on with a set of Snap-On garage kit, and a Hotworks car lifter, but these kits only offer a part of the details a garage should have, fabricated the walls, posters, etc...

there is even a real exhaust fan that works on the top left of the wall!

A white board for all the stuff that needs to be done for the day! Superb details!

How about the lifter switch? great detail indeed!!

the two stainless steel work table are also a fabrication, together with some springs, and the elbow wrenches, fan belts are also fabricated...

a fabricated laptop for tuning, simply a great addition, together with another one from Snap -On which he details also and change the Snap-On screen and keyboard to a Lamborghini screen.

more additional details like a working chair, and a new steel tool cabinet where also fabricated.

a few boxes where also fabricated...

My hats off to Angelo for a very inspiring diorama, and thank you for letting me post this magnificent work of art!

more inspiring custom modifications coming soon from other members!

1:43 Mitsubishi Lancer 6.5 Carisma

A model that is hard to catch, but I was fortunate to find one. This is an IXO brand and was driven by Freddy Loix with co driver Sven Smeets. Loix and Smeets moved to Mitsubishi in 1999 and drove a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 6. It was a difficult year for Loix who suffered an accident during the Safari Rally.

The car is a 1997cc 4cyl turbo 4G63 engine with 300hp maximum. Fed by an ECI Multi Injection system, a manual 6 speed sequential gear box, and rides on 4wd.

Enjoy the pictures!

A 1:43 scale 1973 Cadillac Eldorado Hardtop

This is my second project in assembling a hand built 1:43 scaled car for my friend Vic. This model has less parts than the first one I built way back, but same care and preparation was made.

Sanding and removing excess metal molds and 3 days to let the primer dry well before applying the first coat of paint. It took 2 coats of metallic blue paint and 3 coats of top coat to make this Caddy shine, and polished it with a hobby rubbing compound did the job. Small details where added next, one thing I am disappointed with was the corner lights where made of decals and not plastic chrome, making the corner lights a bit dull. One more thing, no logo decals where provided by the manufacturer for the hub caps which would have made it look better.

Below is the finished product...
